KOCHI :The Cochin International Airport Ltd.( CIAL) has secured the loftiest ranking in passenger satisfaction check in its 23- time history by bagging 4.99 indicator points out of 5 for the first quarter of 2022 The check was conducted by airfields Council International( ACI) an association of field authorities aimed to unifying assiduity practices for airfields norms encyclopaedically.
ACI’s Airport Service Quality (ASQ Departures) is a benchmarking programme measuring passenger’s experience while they’re at the field. During the first quarter. ACI conducted ‘ASQ departures’ at 244 airfields encyclopaedically. The ASQ Departures questionnaire is tone- completed by aimlessly named passengers at the boarding gates of pre-selected breakouts. Selection of breakouts is grounded on the Official Aviation Guide database according to seat capacity, breakouts ’ destination, and carrier to gain a representative sample of all departures from a sharing field.
The ASQ Departures check covers all operating hours of the field, and each day of the week is unevenly distributed between each month of a quarter. Cleanliness, health safety, vacuity of washrooms restroom, comfort of staying at the gates areas, and ease of getting to the field were the five important broad parameters that have been decided this time for the check.
Cial managing director S Suhas attributed the high ranking of the Cochin field to effective collaboration of Cial with other assiduity stakeholders as well as to the perpetration of state – of – the- art passenger-friendly interfaces. “During the time of the epidemic, we’ve reworked the hygiene order in the bribe. The airport handled 8.9 million passengers during 2016-17 and the weekly aircraft movements stand around 1200. For the first time in its history, the passenger volume for a single financial year (2017-18) touched 10 million on 28th March 2018. Since then, the airport has been handling around 10M passengers a year. CIAL is the World’s first airport fully powered by solar energy.

Sri.S.Suhas IAS, District Collector, Ernakulam assumed the additional charge of the Managing Director, CIAL on that day.
